An illuminated bathroom mirror is a very useful accessory, whether you’re doing your makeup, shaving or completing any other grooming activities that require good light and an attention to detail. And a lighted mirror doesn’t just let you see your reflection better in the glass — it can also add a subtle and attractive lighting source to your bathroom as a whole.

If you spend any time tending your appearance in front of a bathroom mirror, you’ll know just how important a role good lighting plays in being able to focus on small details and judge shading and color in makeup. Many men like to use a magnifying mirror when their shaving in the morning, and the addition of the built-in lighting source makes it a whole lot easier to ensure a smooth shave and a well groomed appearance before you set out in the morning.

Backlit Bathroom Mirror

Almost every bathroom has a vanity mirror above the sink or basin. This may be an independent wall mount mirror or it may be built-in to a bathroom cabinet. Irrespective of the decor of the bathroom and the type and size of mirror you choose, some form of backlit function can make it so much easier to see what you’re doing.

If you would like to install an illuminated mirror in your bathroom, you have an enormous range of styles, shapes and sizes to choose from. And as well as having some form of built-in illumination — such as LED lighting or special sized light bulbs around the edges — you can find heated bathroom mirrors, halogen wall mirrors, fogless mirrors, even TV wall mirrors!

These illuminated mirrors come in all sorts of shapes and sizes — rectangular, round, oval or in custom designs, with or without a frame. In some models, the light penetrates through the glass to create a gentle, atmospheric effect, due to a sandblasted, satin or frosted finish that allows the light to shine softly on the face without dominating the room.

If you find that you can’t see well enough when you’re shaving or putting on your makeup — either because the lighting in your bathroom isn’t well-positioned or because the room itself doesn’t receive much natural light — an illuminated bathroom mirror can help provide a soft, evocative glow and an evenly distributed source of light across your face.
